The Fiber Guild of the Blue Ridge partners with the community to encourage and promote interest in fiber arts. The work of our members can be viewed in venues such as public libraries and government offices. Our goal is to raise public awareness of fiber handcrafts and to advance the appreciation of both their beauty and utility. The exhibits display work from our weavers, knitters, and spinners using wool, cotton, flax, and other fibers. The FGBR members frequently participate in local art exhibits and fiber festivals. The guild’s exhibits and demonstrations serve to inform, educate, and encourage others to explore the world of fiber arts. Outreach for promotion of fiber arts is a significant part of the guild’s mission.Â
